HowTo: Installation of FLI4L router and integration to an existing WIN XP
[ ATTENTION: please read HowTo about "config.txt" before using this HowTo ]
Step 1-TCP/IP It is essential for the function of all of this that you have an existing and completely installed Windows XP network with TCP/IP protocol. TCP/IP protocol must be bound to the network adaptor. All necessary settings will now be done in menu option "TCP/IP>"Your network adaptor".
IMPORTANT To make it simple I will configure the router as DHCP, because history showed that many problems resulted from DNS configuration. In this case there was often no connect or ping to the router.
After this you should configure the DHCP in "config.txt" - but: donīt forget to activate opt Tools before this. Please use FAQ pages for configuration of DHCP.
Right mouse key; open network properties. |
Then open LAN connection of your network adaptor in network properties. See illustration/picture |
TCP/IP And now you should "be" in property window of your network adaptor. Here the TCP/IP protocol must be configured. Mark TCP/IP in this window and open properties dialog. |
Properties of TCP/IP Now you may enter IP addresses which may (ex.) be necessary for your company network access. That doesnīt really matter, because you must click here on: "Enhanced".
Enhanced TCP/IP settings Click on "Add" in step "Default gateways" and goto the next picture...
TCP/IP Gateway address Now just enter the gateway (IP address of your router) and: thatīs all ! And ..... look....: :) WinXP doesnīt want to restart !
